NOT PROOFREAD
Weeks after you and Damon had had a nasty split, you had decided to get out of town and just go take some well-needed you time. You decided to go to New Orleans, as an old friend of your suggested you shall. You were looking forward to meeting up with Rebekah, as its been way too long. The taxi had dropped you and your suitcases off on a random street in New Orleans. You didn’t know your way around, but the friendly, warm feeling you were getting from just being in the presence of the people in this town made you feel comfortable already. You shot a text to Rebekah, letting her know you had arrived.
You decided to walk around the stone sidewalks before finally seeing a familiar face. Elijah was taking a stroll as well! “Y/N do you remember me?” He called out to you, speeding up to catch up with you. “Of course I do. How could I forget any of the Mikaelsons?” You laughed, giving him a hug. He grabbed one of your suitcases to help you take a load off. “Rebekah should be meeting me somewhere around here. I figured I needed some me time away from mystic falls.” You said, sighing and letting off a fake smile. Elijah always knew you better than you thought, though. No matter how much time has passed, he always read you like a book he’s read multiple times. “Was it the Salvatores again?” He laughed, noticing Rebekah pulling up in her car. “Yes, but I came here to forget that last name ever existed. I’m tired of going through heartbreak after heartbreak.” You announced, giving him an inside scoop on how life was going. Rebekah pulled over to the curb of the sidewalk you were on. She got out the car, greeting you and wrapping you in her arms. You couldn’t wait for the weekend you had planned with her. “It’s been too long.” She said, her accent strong throughout her words. “Way too long.” You agreed. Elijah helped put your suitcases into the car for you. “I’ll see you two back at the house.” He said, smiling and waving goodbye as we walked off into the crowd of people on the New Orleans sidewalk. He always loved taking strolls during the night.
After you two got back to their shared mansion, Rebekah helped you bring up your suit case to one of their guest rooms. “Now start getting ready, we mustn’t wait for anymore time to pass before all the cool people leave the pubs!” She laughed, making her way out of the room so you could have some time for yourself. You started pondering about what you would wear, but then your mind trailed off to Damon and what he would be doing in this very moment. Probably off with Stefan. You shook the thought of him out of your head, returning your mind to think about what you were going to wear. You decided to go down the sexy route. A classic black mini dress and your favorite heels that elongated your legs, making you look like a model. Before slipping into your outfit, you did your hair in tousled curls, making it look like your hair was effortlessly done. You had your makeup done in a classic way too, with a hint of darkness with a deep smokey eye. You added a pop of color with a light burgundy lip. You got dressed, smiling at your appearance in the mirror. You were ready for this change. You hadn’t been out to mingle in over a year since you and Damon had been together. After the stunt he pulled on you, you were ready to meet new people.
After what felt like forever, you and Rebekah finally were both done getting ready. She was dressed almost the same as you, but instead of a dress, she had on a black mini skirt and a blouse that flattered her curves in the best way. You both headed out the door, deciding to take a cab to the pub. While in the car, you and her turned to each other and talked about how excited you were. “Every time I’m with you, it feels like there has been no time in-between our friendship.” You admitted to Rebekah. Been with her made you feel at ease and reminded you of who you were. You deserved better and being with Rebekah already made you feel like that.
Without realizing it, the driver stopped and Rebekah paid him. “Come on, Y/N, I could hear our song playing.” She laughed, you quickly trying to get out of the car without stumbling. You followed behind her. The first thing she did was run to the bar and order you two some drinks. You waited alongside her, your eyes roaming the room. You were met with a familiar pair of greenish-blue eyes. He waved at you, a half-smile appearing on his face. The familiar face went back to enjoying his drink on the table. Rebekah passed you your drink. You took a sip before taking the liberty to walk off and meet up with that familiar face. Rebekah decided to invite Marcel, so she wouldn’t mind, considering she was waiting for him. You never minded when Rebekah invited him anywhere. You just had that bond where being in the same room as each other was enough. Besides, you’d have her to ourself the whole week you were staying.
You finally made it to the table. “Well, would you look at that. Y/N back in New Orleans.” Klaus spoke. His voice was smooth like butter and it sounded like music to your ears. You laughed, tapping his arm lightly. “Klaus. Its really nice to see you again.” You shot him a soft smile, sitting down at the empty seat at his table. You had always had some sort of thing with you and Klaus. From the way he looked at you, to the way he flirted with you in the most smooth manner. “You look beautiful, love.”He complimented you and you felt the heat rush toward your cheeks. You took a sip of your drink, trying to hide your rosy cheeks. “Thank you, handsome.” You replied. Ah, the casual flirting. It felt comfortable to you. You and Klaus both knew your emotions toward each other, but always just toyed around with the idea of being more than friends. You both walked that fine line between friends, hooking up, and taken. You loved that about your relationship with him, but it is the very reason you had to move away from New Orleans in the first place. Damon wouldn’t like you being around Klaus knowing what type of relationship the two of you had, but who cares now. Damon isn’t here and it doesn’t matter what he says anymore. He doesn’t own you. You downed your drink quickly, gaining a bit of liquid courage.
The music changed from raging party music to a familiar tune. Klaus looked at you quickly when he first heard the two beats to the song. “Do you remember this song?” He smirked. You nodded, loving the smooth tune of the down. ‘Down’ by Marian Hill. It was your favorite song and Klaus always used to tease you about it until he started getting it stuck in his head. Quickly, It turned into the favorite song of you both. “Want to share this dance?” He asked, extending his hand out to you and standing up. You nodded, grabbing his hand and heading toward the dance floor. It helped that you downed your drink earlier, giving you confidence to do whatever you wanted.
You moved toward the dance floor with Klaus, not releasing his hand. You finally made it onto the dance floor, where Klaus pulled you in. He seemed to have some liquid courage running through his veins too, but you enjoyed it. Your chest pressed against his. You started swaying your hips to the beat of the song and singing along to the words. “Are you down?” You snag, Klaus replying, “Yes” You laughed, as you were just singing the song. However, he twirled you around. Now, your ass was pressed against him. The familiar feeling making you feel secure and protected. You started grinding on him, matching the pace of the song. You could feel him moving his hips to the beat of the song as you did so. His breath was traveling down your spine, making you arch your back a bit. You missed this feeling. Maybe you just missed Klaus. You felt like he was only staring at you- like you were the only girl in the world. That was what you longed for this whole time. You wanted to feel like someone was so consumed in you that they lost track of time, and that Klaus did. Without realizing it, you both had been dancing for a while. You both lost track of time and it was clear that the liquid courage had worn off. At this point, you were both choosing to keep dancing. You felt confident in the fact that out of everyone, Klaus still decided to dance with you.
After a couple more songs, Rebekah ruined the moment by suggesting that you all find your way back to the mansion. You and Klaus agreed, though you could stay on the floor for hours, you were ready to go lay down. Your feet were throbbing from your heels, but you enjoyed your night. Klaus had made it a good night.
